D-Allulose (D-阿洛酮糖) was approved as a new food ingredient in China by National Health Commission announcement No. 4 of 2025, published in July 2025. The approval is attached to a production route and a purity specification, and it does not automatically extend to every existing overseas use.
Monk fruit extract is approved as a sweetener in the United States (FDA GRAS), China (GB 2760), Canada, Japan, Korea, Australia and New Zealand, Brazil and Mexico. It is not approved as a general-purpose sweetener in the European Union, where standardised extracts are treated as novel food and assessed case by case.
