Product overview

Bulk Monk Fruit Extract Powder (Mogroside V 30%) is supplied at ≥ 30 % Mogroside V · HPLC, delivering 190–230× sucrose with 0 kcal / 100 g and a glycaemic index of 0 (zero glycaemic). Minimum order is 25 kg (1 fibre drum) · free 20–100 g sample, and every batch ships with a batch-specific COA.

What it is. Siraitia grosvenorii (Swingle) C. Jeffrey, known in trade as Luo Han Guo. The sweet principle is the triterpene glycoside Mogroside V. Botanical / chemical identity: Siraitia grosvenorii (Luo Han Guo) fruit extract. CAS: 88901-36-4.

How it is made. Hot-water extraction of dried Siraitia grosvenorii fruit, membrane ultrafiltration to remove sugars and pigments, macroporous-resin adsorption to concentrate the mogrosides, then vacuum concentration and spray-drying. No methanol, no ethanol, no synthetic solvents at any stage.

Performance in application. The powder is cold-soluble and heat-stable through pasteurisation, UHT and baking, and it holds sweetness across the pH range typical of soft drinks, dairy and bakery systems. It contributes no browning on its own, so formulations that need crust colour pair it with allulose or tagatose.

Why buyers choose this grade. Sweetness equivalence of 190–230× sucrose means the inclusion rate — not the price per kilogram — determines cost-in-use. At this potency a 25 kg drum covers a very large volume of finished product, which is why we quote landed cost per finished unit rather than per kilogram of powder.

Quality and documentation. Every batch is released against a batch-specific certificate of analysis covering assay, moisture, ash, heavy metals, microbiological limits and a 450+ compound pesticide multi-residue screen. Halal and Kosher certificates are issued against the producing plant, and third-party verification is available on request.

Supply and logistics. 25 kg (1 fibre drum) · free 20–100 g sample. Stocked grades ship within 3–5 business days from the Guangzhou warehouse. Incoterms offered are FOB Nansha / Yantian, CIF, CFR and DDP door-to-door by air or express.

Regulatory status

Status below reflects the position for this ingredient in each market. Confirmation for your finished product and label claim remains your own regulatory responsibility.

Market Status What it means
United StatesFDA GRASGRAS notices for monk fruit extract are listed by FDA; Luo Han Guo juice concentrate and extracts are generally recognised as safe for use as a sweetener and flavour modifier in conventional foods.
European UnionNovel Food assessmentStandardised monk fruit extract is NOT authorised as a general-purpose sweetener in the EU; only certain non-selective aqueous monk fruit decoctions have been determined not to be novel foods. Each specification must be assessed against its process and food category.
ChinaGB 2760 national standardLuo Han Guo extract is a permitted food ingredient under China's national food safety standard for food additives usage.
Codex / JECFASafety assessmentMogrosides have been evaluated by JECFA; the committee established an acceptable daily intake expressed as mogroside V.

Applications & indicative dosage

Dosage ranges are a starting point for bench work. Our formulation team will review your specific matrix, process temperatures and target sweetness profile and propose a validated level.

0.015 – 0.04 %

Ready-to-drink beverages & sparkling water

Fast round sweetness that stays crystal-clear in acidic and carbonated bases.

0.02 – 0.05 %

Bakery, confectionery & cereal

Survives 200 °C bake without caramel burning or measurable sweetness loss.

0.01 – 0.03 %

Nutraceuticals & functional powders

Masks vitamin, mineral and botanical bitterness at zero glycaemic load.

0.02 – 0.045 %

Frequently asked questions

Choose by cost-in-use, not by price per kilogram. MV20 (150–190× sucrose) is the economical choice for high-volume beverages where the extract is a small share of the formula. MV50–MV70 (200–320× sucrose) suits tabletop sachets, gummies and low-dose applications where every milligram of powder matters and a cleaner taste profile is required.
Not as a general-purpose sweetener. The EU has not authorised standardised monk fruit extract as a sweetener for general use, although certain non-selective aqueous monk fruit decoctions have been determined not to be novel foods. Importers must assess each specification against its production process, composition, food category and destination market.
Divide by the sweetness multiple. At MV50 (200–250× sucrose), roughly 4–5 g of extract replaces 1 kg of sucrose for sweetness alone — but you must rebuild the lost bulk, browning and mouthfeel with a polyol such as erythritol or allulose.
Yes. Mogroside V is stable through pasteurisation, UHT and baking, and holds sweetness in the pH 2.5–7.0 range typical of soft drinks. Unlike aspartame it does not hydrolyse in acidic systems.
Yes. Every batch ships with a batch-specific COA, heavy-metal screen, 450+ pesticide multi-residue report and allergen declaration, with Halal and Kosher certificates issued against the producing plant.
MOQ is 25 kg — one fibre drum. Free 20–100 g analytical samples are dispatched within 24–48 hours; you cover express freight or supply your DHL/FedEx account.
No. Extraction is hot water only, followed by membrane ultrafiltration and resin adsorption. There is no methanol, ethanol or other organic solvent in the process, and the COA reports residual solvent as none detected.
